I find that the width of the blade at the point of the knot is the best explanation for the ease of making a dimple. It allows you to have enough material to make attractive knots and have the excess width of fabric to force the tie to dimple automatically. Many ties in department stores are too skinny at the point you would tie the knot. I think the idea is based on the universal fit of the tie - that it is made as a one size fits all item, at 57-58" in length. (147 cm) It doesn't help that they have been shrinking ties to below 3" (7.5 cm) at the tip of the blade. They want to accomdate taller people and shorter people, so they make the width to fit under a collar extend for far too much of the tie's length.

I prefer sports jackets with odd trousers over suits as well because I love creating different looking outfits each day. Sports jackets and odd trousers have way more combinations than suits while still allowing you to look elegant and well put together.

I find the easiest way to pull off the jacket with the jeans look is to go with a sports jacket that has a pattern paired with an Oxford button down shirt (or polo) and dark denim jeans (no distressing). For the shoes go with a dark brown derby with some brogues or a dark brown Chelsea boot. Also don’t wear a tie and don’t wear a dress shirt.

I had a G-Shock G-9000 Mudman for last 8 years and i can assure you - it was the best instrument I ever had and I'll definitely upgrade to Gw-9500 mudman for job reasons, but im sure I'll grab one Casio Octagon for casual outfit and everyday activities. Not a fan of classical watch, but i was absolutely stunned when i saw 4000 dollars mechanical watch.

Slips are just so elegant. In winter I use my scarf to fake slips with my overcoat. Because during the day it's simply to warm for me for a scarf and I still have to get it around so why not add the elegance.

Olive green in suiting and tailored jackets (or even casual ones) will always be one of my go-to colors, as it suits my dark complexion and salt-and-pepper (formerly black) hair. I agree that the right shade of green, selected and combined with thought, can be nearly as versatile as your staples in shades of blue.

Love solid ties. They make outfits easy to assemble with loud jackets or pocket squares, and they are really needed for certain formality. Wearing very formal jackets almost demands solid ties.

I used to feel 'something missing' when not wearing a watch. Idk why. It's like my wrist looks so thin I need to put something on it. It looks beautiful with it. It can be the cheapest I don't care. I just needed a watch. 😅

I have a beautiful light grey silk/cashmere summer jacket that really looks sharp. It is perfect as a foil for bright colors or sophisticated color combinations. You can wear basically wear whatever you want with it and it will always look sharp.

Apart from some lawyer firms and real estate agencies, funerals are the only places where I see more people in suits than separates in my home town. It gets slighly more common in the capital but a separate is usually considered ore appropriate.

Wearing a nice watch tells women your time is valuable and you are aware of it.
